One of the much-awaited hatchbacks in the Indian automobile market is the Maruti A-Star that has always been looked down as compared to its stalemates including the Alto and the Wagon R. But the upcoming Maruti A-Star is ready to leave all of you spellbound with its new and improvised look and features. The expected launching month of this hatchback is September 2013 with a price of around Rs.4.00 L - 7.00 L.

Another hatchback expected to launch in the same month is the BMW 1 Series, which is undoubtedly the answer to many prayers of people seeking for a relatively affordable version of this German car model. And moreover, the best part is that the launching of this car is going to start the segment of luxury hatchbacks in the country. The BMW 1 series would be most probably available in petrol and diesel engines. The expected price of this luxury hatchback will be approximately Rs.17.50 L - 24.00 L. Yet another very promising hatchback is the Tata Nano Diesel, one of the most sought-after upcoming hatchback cars in India. The Tata carmakers are ready to hit the roads with their new and improvised Nano with a diesel engine. The car is expected to come with a turbocharger developed by Garrett. Further, its 800 cc common-rail diesel engine would produce 40 PS of peak power @ 4000 rpm owing to the turbine. The expected price of this small and manually operated hatchback is expected to be around Rs. 1.75 L - 2.25 L.
